This is a two-part miniseries based on the books "Eyes Of A Child" and "Degree of Guilt" by Richard North Patterson. Chris is a lawyer who, with another lawyer named Terri, represents a woman named Mary Carelli who is accused of murdering a writer. Patricia plays Caroline Masters, the judge in the case. Terri begins to have a lot of problems with her husband Richie, who tries to win custody of their daughter when they separate. Terri winds up becoming romantically involved with Chris, and when Richie is found dead, Chris is charged with the murder. Terri finds out Chris was the last one to see Richie, and must confront the possibility that Chris might actually be the murderer. Caroline, who quit the bench, goes back to being a lawyer, and becomes involved in the case. Chris has to decide how far he is willing to go to prove his innocence.
